Most of the Pinoys I know couldn’t live a day without rice. Rice has been a staple in the Filipino meal. But another favorite is the Pan de Sal. I have been a ‘bread’ lover all my life. It was only in the recent years that I have found my liking for red or brown rice. I am now on a quest to find tasty, different kinds of bread.
First on my list is the Spanish bread from Fortune Bakeshop. I’m not sure if you have tried this but the Spanish bread from this bakeshop is something that I always crave for. The bread is very creamy and sweet. I like parts of the Spanish Bread that are caramelized with sugar! It’s a cheap comfort food.
This bakeshop sells different types of bread. It’s located beside Mercury drug in Greenbelt 1. Each Spanish bread costs around Php 7.50.
Another bread on my list is the Blue Kitchen’s Red and Purple bread. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the bread with the red colored filling, but this mixture from Blue Kitchen is delicious. I love the subtle flavor of this bread. So subtle in fact that you will hardly notice that you have finished the entire pack! If you haven’t tried it yet, be sure that you do. One pack is aroun Php 120.

you may also want to try fortune bakeshop’s ube hopia. IT doesn’t really taste ube-ish. parang sa color ng filling lang kaya tinawag na ube hopia. but the taste, so good I could finish 1 pack in 1 sitting if i don’t watch it. the bread part is like the consistency of hopiang baboy. but the filling is ube (or not really) but tastes really good =)

i love the spanisg bread from fortune too
also the red bread from panaderia pantoja! other cheap thrills include pan de coco from julie’s and the mongo bread and cheese loaf from tinapayan!
for grocery bought bread, i so love gardenia wheat bread, gardenia choco chip loaf and ube-cheese twirl.
for more expensive bread, i love bread talk and french baker!
i’m suce a lover of bread. i’d prefer it than rice anytime.
