Manila Reviews in Cebu (Part 2) – Mactan and Boosog!

On being Boosog…

On the second day, if you’re petty much done with your shopping, it’s time to go have some fun at the beaches of Cebu.

First up, on your way there, you can have a hearty lunch at Boosog Lasang Pinoy. This restaurant is in Juan Luna Street, Mabolo City. It specializes on Filipino home-cooked dishes.

Our colleague suggested the Monggo soup. It was one of the best offerings in their menu. True enough, it was delicious. The soup even contained pieces of shrimp. We also ordered Mixed Seafood in Curry Sauce.

We also ordered grilled dishes, such as the Grilled Tanguigue and the Grilled Squid.

The nice thing about this restaurant is that there is a server who goes around and just gives you bottomless rice until you are full to the stomach!

Boosog Lasang Pinoy is very affordable. the other recommended dishes are the Crispy Pata, Sizzling Sisig, Sizzling Gambas, Utan Bisaya (vegetables) and Balbacua. They are open from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm (lunch), and 5:30 pm – 10:30pm (dinner).

The resorts to visit are still Shangri-la or Imperial.  We visited both and we just toured the resorts, spending a bit of time lounging around on their pool chairs.

Hopefully, this little guide helps you traverse the friendly strets of Cebu. My 2 day visit definitely made me want to go back!
