Yakimix. Now, I understand why people flock to this restaurant. There is something about cooking your own food that gives that “extra appeal” to Filipinos. I guess this concept of Yakiniku or grilling meat by the Japanese appeals to our race, too, since we Filipinos love to cook and love to make homemade dishes (and most of us, simply love to eat). It was a work day, a Wednesday to be exact. We were a group of 14 people. We had a despedida lunch for one of our colleagues. We called the previous day to make a reservation, but the girl on the other line mentioned that Yakimix does not accept reservations. She advised us to be there at 11:00 am, so as to be assured of a table.

We took her advice and we arrived at around 11:15 am. We got a table, but to our surprise, Yakimix Greenbelt 3 was almost full. We immediately got appetizers, or should I say “round 1” of our main course. Everything that they served seemed to be very appetizing. The selections were divided into sections. One section carried various Sashimi and different types of Maki. I think I got to try one of each.

There was also a section for pre-cooked Chinese, Japanese and Korean food. If you love Tempura, do try to get just enough of this right away. They easily run out of Tempura. The most visited section though was the section where different kinds of marinated raw pork, fish, chicken, beef and vegetables were placed for customers to choose from and cook at the designated grillers in their table. We highly recommend that you get the U.S. Prime Angus Beef. A lot of of customers also love the mushroom wrapped in bacon.

Don’t forget to get sauce for your grilled food. The food was good, and I would come back and bring my family there. The thing that Yakimix has to improve on is the service. It takes the waiter a long time just to get customers water and to refill their drinks. Also, some of the offerings are out of stock. When we visited, they ran out of Tempura (which is a very saleable product).

The price for the buffet is at Yakimix is at Php 499 from Mondays to Fridays (lunch) and it is at Php Php 580 at all other times. Children below 4ft are at Php 380. Drink all you can is at Php 65. Left over price is at Php 699.
