One of my goals after I gave birth was to get my ‘glowing’ skin back. Although, it is so difficult to achieve radiant skin especially after having these stretch marks on my tummy. The skin on my tummy had gone through all that stretching, and to be honest with you, I don’t know if there is a way to get it back to the way it was before. I also have scars on my legs that I never got to pay much attention to. I’d really love to lighten these scars, too, but I don’t know how. If there is a way that I can help improve the way my skin looks, I would really want to give that product a try.

Bio Oil for my legs

Then I heard of a product called Bio-Oil. Bio-Oil is a specialist skincare product that is known to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Hearing this was like music to my ears. I am excited to try Bio-Oil, since I heard that it is a really effective product. It had won 135 skincare awards and has become the no.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 16 countries since its global rollout began in 2002.

Bio-oil for stretch marks

Bio-Oil is made up of really safe ingredients. It is made out of a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base, called PurCellin Oil™. They used this light and non-greasy oil as a base product since it is oxygen-free and allows the plant extracts and vitamins to keep their potency. The vitamins are extracts are easily absorbed by the skin.

Bio-Oil Ingredients

What Vitamins and Plant extracts are present in Bio-Oil, aside from PurCellin Oil™? Bio-Oil contains Vitamin A, which helps in skin renewal and the formation of new collagen that helps in increasing elasticity and in improving the skin’s texture and tone. It also contains Vitamin E, which we all know to be an antioxidant present in different skincare products. Vitamin E protects the skin from the effects of free radicals which cause skin damage and premature ageing. For the oils that Bio-oil has, it has Calendula oil, which has cell regenerative effects and can be used to treat sensitive, damaged or sunburnt skin. It reduces inflammation and can be used to combat minor skin infections, rashes and superficial irritation. It also has Lavender Oil and Rosemary Oil, which have skin conditioning properties and is also a natural antiseptic. It has Chamomile Oil, too, which is an anti-inflammatory and beneficial for sensitive skin.

Bio Oil

Bio-Oil is safe to use for scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone and dehydrated skin, since it has undergone safety assessments in accordance with the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on Cosmetic Products. In fact, it is a safe product to use even by pregnant women. In fact for stretch marks, it is advisable to use the product twice a day from the second trimester of pregnancy to up to three months. Should I have known about this product early on, I would have used it as advised.

But I guess it’s never too late to try to use it. If this product lightens my stretch marks and scar, I will forever be a brand ambassador for Bio-Oil. For stretch marks, it was reported that after 8 weeks, 100% of subjects showed an improvement in the appearance of existing stretch marks by proDERM, 2010.

I can’t wait to share with you what happens to my skin after I use Bio-Oil. I will start using it on October 1, my birthday. Could this be Lara’s skin secret?
