Poco Deli Fanatics Ginger Arboleda September 13, 2011 Featured, Food & Dining, Reviews I know that my officemates will find it weird to have just come up with this post JUST NOW. I would like to apologize for any delay in coming up with this article. My friends at work and I have been avid and loyal fans of Poco Deli for some time now. For those who haven’t heard of POCO DELI, it’s this quaint little deli in Kapitolyo. For those who have gone to Charlie’s Burger in Kapitolyo and Cab Cafe, it is in the same street. The ambiance of the place is very deli-ish. They have wooden chairs and tables, a glass enclosed commercial refrigerator where you will be able to see the various sausages, ham, cheeses, etc., and different wine and liquor offerings. The service is great, but when the place is full, you may have to wait a while for your order. Normally, the place is jam packed, especially on weekdays. Our favorite is the Creamy White Sauce Mushroom Pasta with Truffle Oil and Bacon bits. I love that pungent scent of truffles. You will do, too, once you try this pasta dish. For those who have followed Manila Reviews since way back, you will know that I am not an avid fan of pasta. But each time we visit Poco Deli, I always have this mushroom and truffle pasta in mind. This pasta is a carbonara inspired dish, but the creaminess of the pasta is just right. I love that the deli did not scrimp on the mushrooms that they mixed into the pasta and I love that the dish smelled so good! As for the price, I honestly forgot to check, but I think it was at Php 150-ish. I also love the sausages here. I always make it a point to balance eating carbs with protein (nerdy, right?), but that reason is just my secondary justification why I order the sausage platter. My main reason is that they sausages here are delicious and are cooked very well. You will certainly love the sausage platters at Poco Deli. Before I forget and wrap up this article, don’t forget to order their Iced Tea. They brew it themselves and it’s very refreshing. This drink goes with the dishes that I mentioned. Love, love, love!
