Beyond Manila | Manila Reviews
Manila Reviews went to Subic this weekend to scout for exciting things to do and delicious food to try out. But of course, just like any other visitor, we had to choose our “home base” carefully. We chose Mountain Woods Resort Subic.

Upon entering the place, the sounds being played where relaxing music — the ones that you normally hear when you go to spas to have massages. There were antiques scattered all over the place. From the reception, you’ll be able to see the dining area, Le Jardin, which is over looking the rest of the resort.

Parking is very convenient, too, as Mountain Woods Resort in Subic has ample parking spaces for their guests. Here you can see us having our jump shots at the parking area of the resort!

The people at the reception were very accommodating. They quickly gave us the room keys and led us to the rooms that we had reserved. The rooms cost:

Type of Room Price
FOREST VIEW Php 3,200.00 net
FOREST VIEW WITH BALCONY Php 3,470.00
SUBIC VIEW ROOM Php 3,570.00

We got the Forest View room and it was perfect. If you are going with a group of friends, 3 people can fit in a room. The extra person only has to pay Php 820 for an extra bed and breakfast. Each room comes with Breakfast for two people, FREE use of facilities and FREE coffee & tea and mineral water which is replenished daily.

The resort has a swimming pool, that looks like an infinity pool. It was actually relaxing, but I wish they added more lights so people could enjoy swimming at night.

The also have a pool table and lots of space or tables and chairs in the common area for people to use. We actually got to play three rounds of Cranium in the common area outside our rooms.

For breakfast, people have a choice of a set meal of either a Filipino, Continental or American breakfast. The food was good and was just right to fill up your stomachs for a long day of activities in Subic.

I would recommend this place for people who are looking for a place to stay in Subic. Mountain Woods is a clean and relaxing resort to stay in for a weekend in Subic.

Hi! Would just like to ask if there are restos/food chains nearby the resort? Thank you! :)

      Hi Janah!

You really have to drive out for the resort. It’s a bit far (if you’ll just be walking) from the restos :) You can eat in the resort though. Food is pretty okay or you can bring food like sandwiches and chips.

What's the difference of Subic View Room to Forest View Room? I mean what it is with the Subic View Room that it costs somewhat higher from Forest View? Thank you. Response will be appreciated much. :))

Hi Cha Chay! The difference is the view. The Subic View room has a view of subic (mountain side). The Forest View doesn't have as nice a view. :) Hope that helps!
