In the heart of Ortigas, just beside Ortigas Park, there is a simple, little restaurant that’s called Dolci Divino.I used to see people waking pass this restaurant and not minding it. I heard that they used to serve gelato, but when you peek into the restaurant’s refrigerator, only two flavors would be available. That was before! I heard that they are under a new management team. We have visited the place and now, it has a pretty delicious set of dishes that you can choose from.

Everytime I pass by (which is almost every lunch time to get my daily boost of coffee), they are full of satisfied customers. I’ve eaten in this place more than three times already, and the food is good. They have to improve though on shortening the wait of the customer. It takes longer than what is expected for you to receive your orders.

Now, let me go through what we ordered. I ordered the Gorgonzola Monster at Php 230. The patty was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The burger was cooked well and it had gorgonzola in between the patty and the bread. I loved the presentation. It looked so clean and classy. The sauce of the thick french fries was placed in a little shot glass. It was quite unique. With this order, I am now excited to try out their signature burger which is the Ultimate Burger at Php 330.

EJ on the other hand ordered pasta. I forgot what his order was, but it had a tomato based sauce and it was cooked al dente. EJ said that it was prepared well, and a customer would not feel disappointed to have ordered that.

They also serve coffee, shakes and other drinks. They have to improve though on the acoustics or layout of the place. Once a customer orders shake, they prepare it at the counter and the entire place (which is only around 30-50 square meters below, not counting the area on the second floor) could hear the grinding and buzzing sound, which can be irritating to a few.

For those of you who want to have a relaxing weekend lunch or a late dinner, overlooking ortigas park, you can visit Dolci Divino. You can treat yourself and have a simple food that breaks the monotomy of bringing ‘baon’ to work.
