Flapjacks: more than just Pancakes

I think I will go for the colors violet, orange and lime green for my future kitchen! I love the festive and the happy mood it brings, just like the lively ambiance of Flapjacks!

The staff in Flapjacks Ayala Techno Hub were so perky. I loved our waitress. She looked like Melay from PBB but she was so attentive. We immediately got the menu and ordered. It took a while though for our orders to arrive, but aside from that they service was excellent.

I ordered the Country Fried Chicken Breast. For some reason, when it arrived, I expected it to be grilled (duh! what a thought – my mind was captivated by the colored walls!). Anyway, it was a deep fried chicken breast patty that was served with herbed rice, gravy and vegetables. It was a plain and simple dish but it was delicious! You have a choice of ordering 1 piece at Php 305 or 2 pieces at Php 355. For me, the one piece was enough to be really full!

We did not finish the rice and the mashed potatoes because we wanted to have some space for the pancakes. Check this out. Isn’t this picture quite enticing!

Flapjacks Blueberry Pancakes

You have to choose from three Original Classic American treats: Pancakes, Waffles or French Toast. Then, you have to choose if you want it Just Simple (with butter and maple syrup) or Fancy Seven (you can choose from the different 7 toppings that they have). They have the following: Chocolate Overload, Nutty Banana, Blueberry, Strawberry Sunburst, Apple Cinnamon, Orange Burst or Mango manga. And then get this, the waiter asks you if you want your pancakes to be thin or thick! Range of price depending on what you order is from Php 155 – Php 325.

The pancakes were so delicious. Even if we would have ordered the Just Simple, we would have been happy. The pancakes were so milky and creamy. We didn’t have to spread the butter since it was so flavorful. the blueberry topping came with little berries and the toppings were enough for the two pancakes.

An ongoing activity is being conducted. It’s called Rate the Plate, where student chefs gave three recipes for the customers to order. I didn’t get to try any but I plan to on my next visit.
