I’m sad. After the Pond’s Flawless White Unbeaten Challenge, Reena and I actually wanted to take modelling classes. It felt like another calling was unleashed. Yes, I know I’m exaggerating a bit here, but hey, I’m entitled to express my emotional connection with my unfulfilled dream of becoming an actress (hmmm, now actress/model). I expressed this to our recently new found BFF, Rissa Mananquil, our idol in this industry. And to our desire to be models, she replied with a positive message of having these modelling classes right after Holy Week.

I hurriedly checked my email, but alas, the classes scheduled to be held from April 27 to May 30, 2011 ran every Wednesday and Friday. It really had to be held on Weekdays, of course, when we both had work to do. This is the cause of my sadness.

And so, I am writing about this for those who want to take up modeling with one of the best models in the industry (for us, she’s the BEST!). Our supermodel idol, Rissa Mananquil, teams up with another talented theater icon, Audie Gemora, in My Talent. My Talent is a workshop program at Eastwood City that offers training in the fields of singing, dancing, acting and modeling for kids, teens and adults. Rissa will be mentoring and giving advice to aspiring models.

Just for those who do not know, Rissa was President of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for six years. The course that she will be teaching provides lessons and training in the basic aspects of modeling. She will also provide an inside look into the do’s and don’ts of the industry. I’m glad that Rissa has been picked to share her knowledge as I’ve seen how passionate she is with her work.

Mr. Audie Gemora will intersperse in Rissa’s class, teaching the participants on how to audition for TV commercials. In this course, you will learn that models need to learn how do a video audition (VTR), act for the camera and take instructions from a caster or director.

Classes are open to kids, teens and adults.
