I thank my work for helping me discover new things. If not for a client call to Bonifacio Art Foundation, I would not have discovered this interesting museum being built at the Bonifacio Global City. It is called The Mind Museum.

I, personally, believe that we need to have more museums in the Philippines. We need to have bigger museums, the likes of the Smithsonian in the States. A study conducted by Trends in International Math and Science Study (TIMSS) in 2003 ranked the Philippines low in the fields of Math and Science.
How does the Philippines rate in terms of science?

The Mind Museum is being built already and it’s near the Burgos Circle area. It’s interesting to see a back hoe and a crane with dinosaur stickers stuck on it. It seems like these are actual dinosaurs working to build the museum. This is to tickle the imagination of kids, and to make them curious about what’s going to happen in this place.

With The Mind Museum, our goal of having a world class museum will come true. When Ms. Alex presented the concept of the museum, I was so impressed! I never imagined that this musuem to be that huge. It’s 8,000 square meters inside a 12,000 square meter lot.

There are five galleries that the Bonifacio Art Foundation want to build. These are the Universe, Life, Earth, Atom and Technology.

There are interesting and educational activities and displays, as well. This idea of a life sized bubble machine caught my attention. Children and even adults can stand inside this big bubble maker, and they will be enveloped by a huge bubble. Cool idea, right?

Another great idea is the planetarium and the crater like seats you can use to view the exhibit. In this planetarium, you will be able to see the different planets, galaxies, stars, and constellations.

To help build the museum, the Bonifacio Art Foundation came up with a creative way to raise funds. You can actually light up planets, galaxies, stars, and constellations in their web-based night sky by donating a certain amount. You can buy a star and name it after your loved one. Oh, even the elements in the periodic table elements can be under your name.

We believe in the cause, and that’s the reason why we are spreading the word about this museum. The Mind Museum will be a good place to bring our future kids, and even the kids of our children.
