This young and confident lady, Danika Rio Navarro, is our third interviewee for the RISQ Fashion Event created by Indios Bravos Multimedia and Ideal Events International. The event will be on March 4, 2011 at the World Trade Center, Manila.

She is currently on her second degree for fashion design in the School of Fashion and Arts (SOFA), which is a two year course. Her college degree in Ateneo was Information Design. She does freelance design, but dreams of starting her own ready-to-wear (RTW) fashion brand.
Being artistic runs in the blood of this young girl. Her inspiration are her parents and grandparents, who happen to be active in the fashion industry.
Get ready for Danika's colorful collection!
For the RISQ Fashion Event, her collection is entitled “Ethnicity” or “ethnic” and “city” merged into a fashion concept. Her collection shows a burst of vibrant colors and patterns that is inspired by both Eastern and Western cultures. It is a mixture of Eastern inspirations from Sinulog and Ati-atihan, while the Western influence is derived from the American Indians.
Danika goes on to explain that she infused three trends which she saw in the international runways, which are the use of tribal, animal and floral prints.
Her fashion idols are Antonio Marras (especially the colorful designs that he made for Kenzo), Etro, Anna Sui and Alexander McQueen.

Hi Jhen! Yes this is open to the public but the entrance isn't free. Let me check with the organizers how much. (we'll be sure to post it in one of our future posts so stay tuned!)
