This petite and perky girl also blooms with talent. She is Josefina Lim, Josie for short. She is one of the RISQ Grand Summer Fashion Show Finalists. Josie Lim represents UP Diliman Clothing Technology.
She started taking up engineering, but she found it too masculine (since she’s the ‘kikay’ type). She shifted to Clothing Technology and fell in love with Fashion Design. In UP, her professor told the students about the RISQ Grand Summer Fashion Show competition, and she gave her all to be the chosen candidate for her school. She was one of the two UP Clothing Technology students who was chosen to participate in this event.
Her theme for the RISQ event is something very colorful. Her collection is inspired by the sari, so you’ll be expecting a lot of drapery.
In the future, she wants to be known as a designer of “street wear”. She’s into Japanese fashion, and she believes that with a little tweaking, it would be a fashion that Filipinos would wear.
Her favorite designer is Vivan Westwood. Talking to her, with her perkiness and lively personality, I wasn’t surprised that this was her favorite designer.
To Josie, we wish you lots of smiles and joy as you make Filipinos bright and colorful street wear in the future!
