When I happened to pass by Robinson’s Galleria the other day, I came across this new set of designer clothing from the maker of the famous Slice of Life and Kalabog en Bosyo? We found it interesting as I grew up reading Larry Alcala’s comic strips. I know that a lot of Pinoys would be ecstatic to have a piece from this collection. Larry Alcala has made over 500 characters in his 50 plus years of making us laugh. He has made quite a lot of comic strips, movies, murals and 15,000 published pages. His work in Slice of Life received the Best in Humor award. Larry Alcala made himself quite a legend by evoking laughter and instilling humor in our daily lives. Amidst all the crises and hardships that the Philippines had encountered, we remember to laugh because of these comic strips and characters we can relate with.
