I have always seen this coffee shop but I haven’t really tried it. My first experience of Bo’s Coffee was when I went to Cebu. Little did I know that I was having this first encounter with Bo’s in its first ever store in Ayala Center in Cebu City. This first store was established in 1994 by Mr. Steve D. Benitez.

That time, I just ordered my favorite, Cafe Latte with non-fat milk and sugar substitute. I was definitely sure that I would come back for more. Coffee beans from the Philippines tasted really good!

When I came back to Manila, during one of our shopping sprees in Megamall, I asked my family if they would want to have coffee at Bo’s Cofee. We went in and I of course ordered, my favorite drink.

My sister ordered the Coffee Jelly. It was delicious. The jelly, she said, were softer than those from Starbucks. The drink looked sweet with the caramel like color, but surprisingly, it was not.

They also offer food, like pasta, sandwiches and other pastries. My dad ordered pasta with white sauce and mushroom. I think it was carbonara. It looked good, and according to him, it did. I didn’t get to try it though.

What I shared with my sister was the Banana Bread pastry and the chocolate chip cookie. My favorite was the Banana Bread. The Banana Bread was shaped liked a mini round cake. It had a crunchy and a little bit crispy outer covering and a very smooth and soft inner layer. I loved the mix of textures! The flavor of banana was very evident.

The Chocolate chip cookie had chocolate bits… no, make it more like ‘fudge’ inside the chewy outer layering. If you love chocolate, this pastry is for you.

I always love coffee shops that use locally produced Filipino coffee beans. Bo’s Coffee is one coffee shop that I will support moving on.
