Having a party? It’s been a while since I’ve last planned a party or an event. I think the last one was my wedding last October. And an essential part of planning a party is to be prepared. When the guests arrive, they should be treated to some hors d’oeuvres and appetizers to keep them from fainting while waiting for food to be served. Why not try a variety of quiches?

Ces Lopez Quiche Chicken Adobo

Ces Lopez, the owner of Supreme Brazo Bars, has another wonderful creation. She created mini quiche lorraines and variants of it for people to enjoy as hors d’oeuvres, appetizers or ‘pica pica’. Just a bit of history here – do you know that quiche lorraine actually originated from Germany, from a medieval kingdom named Lothringen. Quiche comes from the German word “kuchen” which means cake. Later on the French named it Quiche Lorraine.

We got the chance to try the three variants of Ces Lopez: the original quiche lorraine, the portabello and asparagus and the chicken adobo. The egg and cream custard of all the three variants was cooked just right. It was placed in an open diamond shaped tart. Her version of the original quiche lorraine was delicious. It, of course, had bacon in it. The chicken adobo added a unique Filipino twist to the quiche. Of all the three though, my favorite is the portabello and asparagus quiche. The mushrooms seemed like a perfect fit to the custard. I would highly recommend this for those who are thinking of what to serve during parties.
