Saturday, April 24, lunch time at Trinoma, the place was full. No empty tables but our party of 6 (plus 1 baby boy) was seated in a small private room. Lucky for us, we had some privacy.
Kapampangan food, that was what the place specialized in. They even had frog legs. Did not notice if they had “camaro” ( I ordered that dish many years ago in Everybody’s cafe in San Fernando, Pampanga but that’s another story.
Placed our order & soon after they came all at the same time: Appetizers & the main courses.
Appetizer – Spicy Sisig Pampanga (P175) , small serving, good, was not on the usual hot plate.
Kinilaw na Tanigue (p196) (no picture, plate was empty before I got the chance to snap one)
Both tasted good & did not disappoint. The sisig was better than the usual liver-overloaded taste one gets in other places.
Pastel de Lengua (tender ox tongue dish P330) beautiful to look at & tasted great.
Stuffed Squid (Lumot – P350-) a little thin but grilled just right.
Pancit Bee Hon (sic), not on the menu but got it on request for the baby boy in our party (p205). Masarap & madami.
Gule Magalang (P220), steamed vegetables .
Everybody liked “Crispy Pork Adobo ni Lola Ising” & had to order a 2nd as the first plate went fast. The menu described the dish as choice pork belly sliced, stewed & then dried in garlic & spices as served in Cafe Adriatico Premiere.
I describe it as ANG SARAP.
Steamed rice was “unlimited” (P62/per order per person)
With drinks, total bill was P3,205.78.
GREAT FOOD in a good restaurant. The service was good — waiters & servers were efficient.
Will return to try their other dishes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Aside from Trinoma, they also have another branch at Serendra, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Thoughtful and interesting, thank you. I grew up in the philipines but moved to australia at such a young age I barely remember anything apart from the delicious food. I finally found some authentic Filipino recipes if you want to take a look, I thought I’d share it with you!

I love Abe's! My personal favorite is their Kare-Kare. It has this home made feel to it.
