It’s November and I hear a lot of discussions about food and festivities. A lot of us filipinos love giving food as gifts. I remember my lola used to have an unlimited supply of food every Christmas since a lot of friends and fmily would send over “food” as gifts. I think a lot of people give food as gifts since it is the safe choice. Since a lot of people have been talking about cakes and pastries that are perfect to give as gifts (at least in my circle), why not go for the all-time-favorite… Purple Oven! I love going to their shop and smelling the freshly baked goodies. All of their stuff comes in a nice and classy purple box, which is perfect for gift giving.

I visited the place recently and just bought some turnovers and croissants for my dear hubby. I can’t believe that he has not tried Purple Oven ever!

Pork Floss (Php 50): It was okay but I wish the bread was a little bit softer.

Tuna Turnover (Php 65): Delish! I love this. It had more than enough filling inside, which made it a great buy.

Ham and Cheese Croissant (Php65): It was okay, but I wished they added more cheese.

Chocolate Croissant (Php 50): I liked this. The chocolate was very rich and creamy. It still stood out even with the croissant covering it.

They also have great cakes and pastries. They have 8 inched cakes sold at around Php 540 – Php 780. Try the cheesecakes and the tortes.

Happy Christmas shopping!

Good bakeshop except that the staff are always in a rush to close shop at night. They should also change the numbers posted here. Not a single one works!

You should! Purple Oven has new cakes & loaves: White Chocolate Sans Rival, Lemon Torte, Little Carrot Cakes, Little Pecan Pies, Pistachio Lime Loaf, Orange Almond Loaf, & Chocolate Banana Walnut Loaf. They’ve also come out with their really cute Christmas boxes.
