Evey time I hear people talk about Mamou, they often talk about Mamou’s amazing steaks. We visited Mamou recently and for a change, we ordered fish dishes.
For our appetizer, we ordered the Cracked Cheese with Fuet and Honey (Php 295). This dish had slices of cheese and Fuet Catalonian salami, which you can dip in the given pure honey. This appetizing dish reminded me of a childhood snack that we had when I was little. We used to place cheese and honey on top of a banana. This tasted like that snack.
For my main dish, I had the Salmon Steak on warm Couscous Salad (Php 575). The salmon was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The presentation was very nice. The salmon was placed on top of the couscous rice. The couscous rice was a perfect pair for the salmon.
For EJ’s main dish, he had the Beer Battered Fish with Malt Vinegar (Php 255). EJ chose the potato wedges. It was like fish and chips. he fish was very substantial and meaty. It was delicious and EJ loved the vinegar sauce.
If you have never tried the fish dishes in Mamou, they are just as amazing as the steaks.
