I had the greatest birthday ever. This, I say, with deepest gratitude to my husband EJ, who is the best “food expert” in my world. I admit that I am the workaholic wife, so after a day at work, which happened to be my birthday, my husband took me out for dinner, and he could not have chosen a better restaurant for dinner. He took me to Bistecca.

Bistecca is a relatively new restaurant located in Rockwell. I knew about the place since my family often goes to the Power Plant mall and on our way home, I would often tell EJ that I wanted to try out the restaurant.

Upon entering, waiters flocked to us and escorted us to our seats. I love the cozy feeling that the glass walls bring. At that time, it was drizzling, and the sight of rain made me more relaxed. We then asked for the menu. By the way, be sure to make reservations if you’re on a special dinner date. What I love about the place is that even if the restaurant exuded class, it did not make us feel uptight.

The first thing that we looked at was, of course, the steaks. They have a suggestion indicated in their menu to order steaks medium rare; that is what we did. We ordered The Bistecca 122. This was their house specialty. It was approximately 1 kilo of USDA Choice Bone in Rib Eye roast. It was a good thing that we were both hungry, because look at how humongous the steak was…

It was superb. The steak was so soft and tender. It took us just a couple of minutes to eat numerous slices. It was so addicting that we forgot that we were digging into one whole slab of steak. Bistecca Rockwell also offers different flavored salt to mix with your steak.

There were also other sauces available.

And to go with these amazing steaks, we highly recommend that you order the Truffle French Fries at 220 peso per order.

It was so good that we wanted to order one more platter to take home. Our filled stomachs stopped us from doing so.

Remember that you have to wait for 30-35 minutes before your steak arrives. While waiting, you can what we ordered. We ordered the Pan Seared Foie Gras (Php 850). It was served with caramelized apples in Port Wine reduction.

Overall, I loved it and it will be a memorable birthday because the one and only ‘food expert’ in my life led me to this amazing place.
