I missed the chocolate cake that we get from the Shell Station at Magallanes. It came in a very distinct brown box that would make my family’s heart jump at the sight of it. That was years ago. I never even knew the brand. It was referred to ‘the chocolate cake from the Magallanes Shell Station’… always.

Ms. Polly's at the Summer Solstice Bazaar

Then years after, I heard from somewhere that the brand was Ms. Polly’s Specialty Cakes and Desserts. I was then delightfully surprised to see it at the Summer Solstice Bazaar at the Rockwell tent. I was excited to have EJ try out this chocolate cake. They were selling little boxes for this bazaar but the normal prices are the following:

Ms. Polly's Chocolate Cake

I just realized now that what I bought was the Regular Chocolate Cake and what we liked before was the Chocolate Cake with Caramel. When we tried it though, it was delicious as well. The cake was moist; it’s the type that melts in your mouth. The chocolate icing was of the right sweetness. There are three brands of chocolate cake that I like as of the moment: Cocoa Loco, Dimpy’s (which we haven’t reviewed yet, but we will… promise! and this cake from Ms. Polly’s.

Ms. Polly’s Specialty Cakes and Desserts also offer other products that we have to try: Apple Pie, Chiffon Cake with Butter/Mocha Icing, Fruitcake and Bread Pudding with Spanish Cream Sauce. They also have bars, cupcakes and other delightful desserts.

They recommend the following for you to try out:
a. Bread Pudding with Spanish Cream Sauce: 5 inch round at Php 280 and 9 inch round at Php 405
b. Gateau Plum (Prune Bars) Bars: Box of 12 at Php 235 and Box of 24 at Php 395
c. Cookie Dough Cheesecake: 7 inch round at Php 650
d. Crema De Fruita: 4×8 rectangle at Php 350 and 8×8 Square at Php 600 (Refrigeration required)
e. Peach Walnut Pavlova: 9 inch round at Php 650 (freezing required)

These desserts sound so yummy and we will come back for more!
