There are restaurants that sound familiar even if we haven’t eaten there yet. One of these restaurants is Red Garlic Bistro. When we saw it at Bonifacio Global City, Ej and I said that the name sounded familiar. We then realized that they had a branch in Katipunan and we used to see it every time we would go home to Quezon City, when we were still living with my in laws.

We finally got to try out the Red Garlic Bistro branch here at BGC. The restaurant had good interiors— very cozy. They also had a great staff, who delivered good service. They were very attentive. We then asked for the menu. The dishes were specialties from different countries. The choices were really diverse from steaks to pizza to burgers. It was a bit confusing for me. I guess I’m used to going to a restaurants which really specialize on a certain type of dish or where dishes are derived from a certain culture.

I noticed though that they were a bit pricey. Anyway, even if expensive, we wanted to try it out. I ordered the Thai Bagoong Fried Rice with Sweet Pork.

The pork and the rice were cooked well. It was not bad, but I wish there had been a more distinct taste to it.

We then ordered the Florence Pasta for EJ. This was what I liked. We both ended up eating and finishing the pasta. I love truffle pasta and they made this dish pretty well.

For dessert, we ordered the Pana Cotta, which so happened to be my favorite dessert. I have tried Pana Cotta from different restaurants. I was a bit disappointed with this one since the consistency of the Pana Cotta was a bit like gelatin. I wanted it to be more creamy. I like the concept though of having different fruits as toppings.

Have you tried eating at Red Garlic Bistro? What was your favorite dish? What are the other delicious dishes that we can order when we visit again?
