Figaro Coffee’s Lenten Offerings: Light, for Life

Figaro Coffee’s Lenten Offerings: Light, for Life

For most of us, Lenten season is a very challenging time of the year. Aside from being extra nice and doing a list of sacrifices, one of the hard things to do is avoid meat every Fridays. It’s hard to look for fish dishes or seafood dishes every Friday during this Lenten season, especially if you love eating meat. We are happy though that each year, food establishments always do come up with Lenten offerings for their customers, and these are actually yummy treats that a meat lover would love, too! I am a fish person so I was excited to try the new Lenten dishes of Figaro. They invited us together with a handful of bloggers to Figaro, Shangri-la Mall.Continue reading »

Kogi Bulgogi at the Eastwood Mall

Kogi Bulgogi at the Eastwood Mall

It’s time for Korean Food once again. Aside from the fact that I love Kimchi, what drew me closer to Korean food are the unique flavors and the tons of appetizers. In one of our malling escapades in the Eastwood mall, we had to look for a place to eat since our tummies were already grumbling. We passed by Kogi Bulgogi at the second floor. The posters looked appetizing, so we went in and ordered.Continue reading »

Mango-ong: Green Mango and Singkamas with Bagoong

Mango-ong: Green Mango and Singkamas with Bagoong

It’s lunch time and i’m contemplating whether to brave the heat or not just to get a box of Mango-ong. Yes, you heard me right… I said Mango-ong. Nope, it’s not one of those shortened terms like OMG! or LOL!, but it’s actually a brand of a new product at Robinson’s Galleria.

Mango-ong serves sliced green mango and sliced singkamas. The green mango is priced at Php 20 for half a mango and Php 10 for half a slice of singkamas. You also have the option to choose the bagoong that you want. They have choices of bagoong which differs in saltiness, sweetness and spiciness. They have an indicator printed on one of the signs in the stall so that you will have a guide on what to choose.Continue reading »

Savor Filipino Cuisine, Rockwell Business Center

Savor Filipino Cuisine, Rockwell Business Center

Just before my sister, Manila Shopaholic girl, left for France on a 3 month business trip, our family treated her out. We chose Savor since we heard that they had great Filipino food. I’m sure she’ll be missing all of these great dishes for the coming months.

We definitely made the right choice! This Filipino restaurant in the relatively new Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas (beside Medical City) served food that was appetizing, memorable and probably “home sickness enducing” dishes. Continue reading »

Itinerary for a 3-day stay in Vietnam (Day 2)

Itinerary for a 3-day stay in Vietnam (Day 2)

Our second day at Vietnam was spent by taking the Mekong River Tour. Some friends and a few locals actually discouraged us from taking this tour — like taking a tour of Pasig River according to them. I disagree though since we had fun and got a glimpse of provincial life in Vietnam (at least the idealized version of provincial life).Continue reading »
