My mom was raving about this restaurant that serves Mediterranean dishes. During the first time that I mentioned this restaurant to her, she raved at how delightful the food was. Zuni Restaurant and Wine Bar, she said, was one restaurant that we should not miss reviewing. So when we did get the chance to visit Zuni with them as a reward for my and my sister’s promotions, I had already set higher expectations for this restaurant. I really hoped for a great experience.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by an accommodating staff. The ambiance was very classy. When we were seated, the waiter gave us the menu. He then served us bread while we were contemplating on what to order. I was impressed since the waiter who was attending to us really knew his food. He was suggesting dishes and patiently explaining each one to my mom and to my lola.

For our appetizers, we ordered the Oyster Rockefeller. It was sumptuous! I love the flavors that bursts in your mouth!

For our main dishes, we got to order the Baked Chicken Breast Roulade Stuffed with Kani, Asparagus and Shiitake (Php 495). It was served with a cognac pepper sauce and with saffron rice risotto.

Mixed Grilled Seafood

Mixed Grilled Seafood

The best dish for us was the Mixed Grilled Seafood at Php 775. It was a combination of lapu-lapu fillet, prawn, scallop and salmon in leek champignon sauce served with saffron risotto and broccoli.

Since I am watching what I eat (which unfortunately just happened recently), I ordered something from the grill. I ordered the Norwegian Salmon at Php 565. You can choose the sidings that you want to take with it and the sauce. I ordered the buttered vegetables and the lemon butter sauce.

The salmon was so fresh! It was grilled perfectly. I was grateful that I ordered this.

For dessert, we ordered the Sesame Crusted Banana Spring Roll (Php 185) and the Baklava Chocolate Cream Cake (Php 175). The banana spring roll was love! The lumpia wrapper that was rolled around the banana was sticky and had sesame seeds as topping. The crunchy texture complemented the soft and sweet banana inside. It was served with trio ice cream, which made it even more delicious. For the chocolate lover, you will like the Baklava Chocolate cake. It was served with raspberry and mango sauce. The chocolate cake was moist and the chocolate filling was fudgy!

I loved how the food was presented in this restaurant. The presentation was unique and enhanced the visual appeal of the dish.
