I have already heard about Blogapalooza from my blogger-friends and they attended the last year’s event. This year, I’ve been a member of some blogger groups on Facebook and they are all psyched about this event. Being a hesitant blogger, I am still not sure if I’m going to this much-awaited blogger event this year. My boss and good friend Ginger opened the invitation to me if I want to represent Manila Reviews to this event. I only decided to attend when my colleague Rikka encouraged me to attend since we have a team meeting in the afternoon. I only registered on the event week so I am not sure if I will be on the guest list. I checked Blogapalooza’s website on the eve of the event to confirm that I’m on the guest list and my heart jumped for joy when I saw Manila Reviews there.

I picked up Rikka at a gasoline station in Pasig because I told her I don’t want to traverse C-5 on our way to SMX SM Aura. We arrived just few minutes after the doors were opened. We immediately saw some blogger-friends and she introduced me to some whom I’ve only knew on Facebook. Nice to see them in flesh, haha.

We started going around to different booths, engaging with the people there, knowing more about their products and services, and some were requesting the bloggers to write about them after the event. I got excited about this ‘writing assignment’ as there were some companies that struck me most because of the warmth I received when I went to their booths. Some booths have games for the participants. I won a prize at AMPR by having the most number of words spelled on the digital Boggle game. My son and I won prizes at Chook’s To Go’s Kwelavan too. It was a fun experience for my son and I! Visiting Dr. Kong’s booth was a learning experience as my son and I learned about the anatomy of our feet. I also had the first dibs on tasting the newest flavors of Chips Ahoy, which will be officially launched this weekend. My son loved the lasagna at House of Lasagna. The ladies at Crocs gave a special token to my son. We also had a chance to have our picture taken with Fujifilm Instax camera at Henry’s Professional. Sample Room’s booth was also engaging that they encourage participants to take pictures in their booth. Oh how I love their vanity mirror so much! Maxicare’s booth offered their new product, which I am interested in. Our Awesome Planet took our photos and instantly, we had a costume!

I was also able to connect with people whom I eventually invited to Manila Workshops’ upcoming event. I am so excited about Essays.ph joining our event, and hopefully Habitat for Humanity will also join as I want to help with with their newest project.

True enough, the companies who sponsored this annual blogger event were very generous to the participants. They gave souvenir items as long as they are available and even raffled prizes during the event. I am not sure if I was picked during the raffle because Rikka and I have to leave for our meeting.

Next year, I will definitely attend Blogapaloza again. For me, this event is not only because I want to make connections, but I also want to build and establish myself as a blogger. I will take writing seriously next year, thanks to my blogger-friends who continually encourage me to bring out my hidden talent in writing.
