With an expansion of its exhibition area to an impressive 85,000 square meters spanning across nine halls, the five specialized shows are undoubtedly the largest and most comprehensive installment yet. World-class competing events, including the FHA2012 Culinary Challenge – Asia’s renowned platform for established and emerging culinary talents to gain worldwide recognition; FHA2012 Imperial Challenge – held once every four years to reveal highest levels of Chinese banqueting techniques and artistry; the third edition of Asia Barista Championship – a premier stage which seeks to boost baristas as a professional career and cultivate Asian appreciation of specialty coffee; and the Asian Pastry Cup – the official pre-selection platform to the World Pastry Cup held in Lyon, France.

Judged by influential connoisseurs in the industry, these highly accredited competitions also serve as an avenue for professionals to gain knowledge, learn new skills and promote their talent to the industry. This year, 15 competitors from the Philippines will participate in the FHA 2012 Culinary Challenge.

Wine&SpiritsAsia2012
The premier event for Asia’s wine and spirits industry professionals, Wine&SpiritsAsia2012 (WSA2012), will also be making its return in Singapore Expo from 17 – 20 April 2012. Co-located with FHA2012, the 12th edition of WSA will boast a stronger presentation of international wines and spirits than ever before, with a projected exhibition area of 7,000sqm and 165 exhibitors from 25 countries. Eight group pavilions are also expected to showcase a wide array of products and a host of new labels. The eight group pavilions hail from Australia, Austria, Chile, France, Germany, India, Italy and Singapore.

Besides the variety of international labels available at the exhibition, fringe events such as the inaugural AFJ-WSA Cocktail Challenge and the prestigious WSA Wine Challenge will also add palpable excitement to the show. WSA Wine Challenge, now in its fifth edition, is organized to the highest international standards, with distinguished panel of judges comprising of reputable sommeliers, wine writers, buyers and educators. The judges will be headed by the Chief Judge Mr. Joel Payne – a highly respected Europe-based American wine expert. The WSA Wine Challenge will be held on 21 – 22 March 2012; a month ahead of the exhibition opening.
