I’m currently sipping a glass of hot chocolate. Hot chocolate gives me that relaxed feeling. I just wished that I had something to eat with this. I discovered a great tasting bagel last week. I love bagels. It’s so compact and convenient to eat. You can use spread or make it a sandwich. The bagel brand that I discovered was Bakersville.

Bakersville is the brainchild of Photographer/Chef Marco Abesamis. This bakeshop specializes in Artisan/Specialty breads and pastries that are known in different countries and cultures worldwide. I learned that he recently launched his hand-made bagel line.

What I got to try was the NY style variant. I got to try the Savory Onion and the Roasted Garlic. According to Bakersville, the NY Style variants are healthier, compared to other breads in the market, since it uses honey instead of sugar. The recipe also doesn’t include egg and milk.

My favorite though was the Cinnamon Raisin. I love that it was so flavorful and you need not put spread. You can just eat it as is. These bagels are great as snacks. When fillings are added or when you use it in making sandwiches, you can also serve these for lunch or dinner.

I love that the bagels have a crusty covering (especially when toasted) and is chewy on the inside. The bread can actually last for weeks if properly stored. You can place it inside the refrigerator or even inside the freezer. Remember that you have to defrost it when it is taken from the freezer, before it is toasted. Avoid using a microwave in toasting the bread, since it will just harden it.

NY Style Plain bagels are available for P100 for a pack of 3; and, NY Roasted Garlic, NY Savory Onion and NY Whole Wheat bagels are available for P120 for a pack of 3. Cinnamon Raisin bagels are available for P130 for a pack of 3.

Aside from the bagel, I got to try the hand-made oatmeal bread. This is perfect for people who are on a diet. Just buy some cold cuts and prepare your own sandwiches. The bread was made perfectly.
