I was panicking. I didn’t know who to invite to play for our Corporate Event. It was a good thing that our boss guided me to contact this “tribal band” that she saw playing one weekend.

I then called the number in the DrumStart calling card that I had. They (Bianca Pascual) immediately responded to my text, and we then got to talk to each other. She mentioned that in the events that they do, the sort-of tribal band that they had did not only play, but also did an activity where the audience would participate. I felt scared since our executive may not all be “game” enough to join such an activity, but nevertheless, we invited them to our event.

DrumStart Ryan Peralta

DrumStart's Ryan Peralta

I met Ryan Peralta, the leader of Drumstart. Ryan was originally from Baguio and played the drums since he was 13. He started teaching drums at the age of 16 in Baguio. In the 90s, he started playing for popular bands in the Philippines. Bands like Rivermaya, Sandwich, etc. In 2003, he started Drumstart with the vision of helping teach music and rhythm to the young kids in our country. He also holds team building events through drumming, with the help of Human Capital Asia, Inc.

At our corporate event, Ryan and his band played the background rhythm for our tribal and ethnic themed anniversary. They were really good. We didn’t get to have a dry run, but they played as though we practiced several times.
DrumStart Community Drumming
The finale of our corporate event was a community drum circles activity, where we gave out instruments that Drumstart brought to the executives, vice presidents, managers, management trainees etc. who were watching the event. Ryan came to the middle of the circle and conducted all of us, as we played our own instruments. It was unbelievable! I never knew that unexperienced musicians like us could play a good or even a harmonic rhythm.
DrumStart with Everyone
What I like about DrumStart is their vision. I think that our children in this country need to be more exposed to both culture and the arts. This is one way of teaching them at an early age how to use music to create beautiful music.

DrumStart offers the following services:
Community Drum Circles
Therapeutic Drumming
Jam!Boree (Kids Drumming)
Corporate Team Development
Conference Openers / Ice breakers
One-on-one drum lessons
Group drumming class

I would highly recommend Drumstart for any corporate event, birthday party, tea building activity, etc. that you might have.

To Ryan and the Drumstart team, thank you for making our event a memorable one!

xoxo,
Ginger
